Privacy
How Data Disruption handles the information you share with us, and what your rights are under Australian privacy law.
The short version
Data Disruption Pty Ltd ("we," "us," "our") is an Australian consultancy based in Australia. We collect the minimum information needed to respond to business enquiries and deliver engagements. We don't sell your data. We don't use it for advertising. We don't share it with third parties except the specific, named services needed to run the business (email, analytics, hosting).
What we collect
When you contact us or visit this site, we may collect:
- Information you give us directly — your name, email address, company, role, and anything you write to us in an email or form submission.
- Information collected automatically — anonymised visit data (page views, referrer, approximate location, device type) via privacy-respecting analytics. We do not use cookies that identify you personally.
- Engagement data — for active clients, information we need to deliver services, including data models, reports, and business definitions you share with us under our engagement terms.
How we use it
We use the information you share with us to:
- Respond to your enquiry.
- Deliver the engagements you've hired us for.
- Send occasional work updates if you've asked to receive them.
- Understand — in aggregate — which parts of the site are useful, so we can improve them.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the specific service providers needed to run the business:
- Email — Microsoft 365 (email hosting).
- Hosting — the hosting provider that serves this website.
- Analytics — a privacy-respecting analytics provider that does not identify individual visitors.
- Professional services — our accountant and lawyers, only where legally required.
For client engagements, your data stays within the scope of the engagement contract and does not leave your own Microsoft tenant without your written authorisation.
How we protect it
We use standard security practices: encrypted connections, access controls, and the minimum retention needed. For active client engagements, we follow the data handling requirements specified in the engagement contract, including data residency and access controls.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Complain if you believe we've mishandled your data.
To exercise any of these rights, email admin@datadisruption.com.au. We respond within 30 days.
Cookies
This site uses a minimal number of technical cookies required for functionality. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising or cross-site profiling.
